Information

This is a During-deployment event for the family members and friends of the 3-144th INF BN D CO MECH, W7Y4 OP SPT AIRLIFT DET. This event will offer the opportunity for the families and rear detachment soldiers to gather for a 1 day event that will inform them on what to expect when their service member returns home and the many resources available to help ease the transition back to civilian life. These organizations and representatives are available throughout the deployment cycle, however, this event is a chance for families to regroup after adjusting to the unit being gone and get assistance for any issue or problem they might have.

Childcare will be provided for children 0-5 years. The youth program will be for children ages 6 and up. The primary purpose of the Child and Youth Program is assisting National Guard youth become more resilient through activities based upon deployment status. Activities are both Child and Youth Staff lead and community partners are brought in when their expertise is available. Event’s location will be held in *Grapevine, TX. POC for this event is TBD.

Please see and fill out the attached Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program Registration form that will be used to create Family member's profiles in the Defense Travel System (DTS) for travel reimbursement. Yellow Ribbon may provide mileage reimbursement for up to two (2) authorized family members per service member. Authorized family members entitled to reimbursements include: parents, spouses, and children. The authorized family member must travel over 50 miles (one way), from Home of Record to event location, in order to qualify for reimbursement. These reimbursements will be conducted after the event. A travel voucher (Form 1351-2) will be completed then.
